Previous Litters

We have a litter of 11 Great Bernese Puppies, born January 28. They will be ready for their new homes, April 8, at ten weeks of age.

If you are interested in a Great Bernese Puppy or have any questions, please contact us at:
providencemountaingreatbernese@gmail.com
and we can put you on our waiting list. Don't wait! The list is may be filling up!

We love our Great Bernese puppies and to insure that they go to the
best, loving, caring homes, we will send you our Prospect
Buyer's Questionnaire and ask that you fill it out before you pick a puppy or make a deposit.

Since the Great Bernese is a hybrid, it is not yet recognized by American Kennel Club as a breed, thus they cannot be registered with AKC. However this batch of puppies have AKC and European Import lines.

All companion/guarding puppies are $1500.

Deposits: $300 Non-refundable Deposit
(Made USD cash only)

The deposit is a commitment to buying a puppy
and is not refundable if the buyer changes his/her mind
(although we, the sellers, have the right to refund the deposit to the buyer at any time if we feel the buyer is not the right person for the puppy).

There are several reasons for a non-refundable deposit.
1. Other potential families may not put a deposit down because
of the number of reservations ahead of them.
2. If the buyer backs out, there are typically additional
expenses incurred in finding another home and caring for the
puppy in the meantime.
For these and other reasons, there will be no refund of the deposit if the buyer backs out.

The puppies will be available at 10 weeks of age.

Balance: $1200 (USD cash only).
The balance is due at the time of pick up or prior to delivery. (Any additional cost involved with the delivery of the puppy must be included in the final payment.)

We are here to answer any questions you have and help you in any way we can.
Thank you.

Whelped January 28, 2018

Imilimo at 7 weeks showing signs of being pregnant. She is due between January 28 and February 1, 2018.

Imilimo on the evening of January 26, a little under two days before whelping.

Two down, 9 to go!

What cute little guys.

After 5 puppies were born, we knew there had to be more in there, as she was still very fat.

Taking a rest with mom.

The holding basket. This is where we kept all the puppies when the next one was on the way.

Last pup, needed a little sugar water and some extra heat. But she is now doing well.

"Did I hear puppies?" Grand-dog Graci heard the puppies squeals and was very happy.

Taking a snooze.

All together now --all 11, healthy puppies (5 boys, 6 girls).

Week 1 Update - February 4, 2018

The puppies are all growing well. They are all starting to move more. The pigment is beginning to come to their noses and paws. We had one little accident this week. Imilimo went into the pen to feed the puppies herself, and somehow laid on Black Boy (Ulrich). He aspirated on his milk, and was blue and gasping for air when we found him. We had to work on him for over half an hour to get all the milk out of his nose and throat. Thankfully he revived and is so far doing well. We are thankful we still have 11 puppies. Here a few pictures from the week.

Collaring the puppies.

The great puppy tote.

Growing: almost as big as mom's paw.

The giant puppy clock --it's almost feeding time.

Black pigment coming in on the paws.

Little Ulrich taking a rest after his fight with death.

All together now: all 11.

Week 2 Update - February 11, 2018

The puppies are all growing very well, keeping us busy as ever. Their eyes opened this week and they are beginning to walk around with unsteady, tottering steps. Their heads are so large compared to their little bodies and legs that they sway and lurch like drunk dinosaurs. In fact, people call this stage for the puppies "The Age of the Drunken Dinosaurs." But they are sure cute. These little guys are starting to play with each other and us a little, and even begging for attention from us. And the teeth, yes, their baby teeth are starting to come in.

Enjoy the pictures... and a short little video.

Putting puppies to sleep.

Starting to outgrown their box.

Good socialization.

Lunch time.

What a cute face (Jed, Blue Boy).

Outgrew weighing box number one.

Week 3 Update - February 18, 2018

The puppies are growing like crazy. They are walking quite well this week; taking in all the new sites and sounds... yes sounds... we cannot make loud noises near their whelping box other wise we wake them all up! And speaking of the whelping box, they upgraded to a new suit complete with toiletries. We are beginning the process of letterbox training them. They are so far doing very well. We still might have an accident once in a while, but they are all getting the idea, although we still enable them a lot to go where they are supposed to. As soon as they wake they get wished off to the potty area before they get lunch. It works very well. I reckon they will be almost completely litter box trained in another week.

Half of them all got a much needed bath this week (they had a slight accident), but they all did very well and were very happy when they were done...such cute puff balls.

They are also starting to play with one another more too and us as well. This week also they begin to do more socializing. We have not taken them out as they are still too young, but we have had visitors come to see them. They are all doing very well with the socialization.

Take a look at a few pictures!

They're starting to get too large for their whelping box (pool).

Lunch time!

Snuggling with mom is the greatest!

Snoozing with mom while their whelping box is getting "upgraded."

Hey mom, can I come out?

Sleeping...

And you never know who might be peaking in on you. She obviously heard the puppies yapping and wanted to see what that noise was.

Enjoying... well maybe not... their first bath.

Socializing.

And I'm all tired out from all that company!

Week 4 Update - February 25, 2018

Growing, playing, growling, biting, tussling, rolling, walking, stumbling, falling, barking, jumping... all these words describe this weeks activities for the 11 litter mates. They are much more playful this week. Their personalities are starting to show. Some are more social and quiet. Others are more boisterous and loud. Others are very sociable and loving. But overall their temperaments are very good. We have started some new aspects of obedience training, one of which is to get them used to a leash.

Take a look at a few snap-shots from this week.

Pondering the great mysteries of life.

Feeding time!

Ummmm can I take this to my babies. I think they are ready for real food.

Mo decided that gleaning off a lion kill (deer), a 1/4 mile away was a good idea... well, we had other thoughts.

Supervising her brothers and sisters is a important job.

Taking a break.

Chewing, chewing, chewing, is now the way of life.

But why do I have to sit still for that camera?

Standing like a pro.

Week 5 Update - March 4, 2018

The puppies have put on a lot of size this week. Especially after they started on solid food! It was quite an excited mess teh first time they started with 11 little bowls going everywhere and 11 little puppies scrambling, licking, stepping in the food, pushing, eating, etc. When we were done we had food all over the floor and on themselves.

They are really starting to play a lot more with their siblings, mom, and with us. Growling, biting, chewing, rolling, tussling, jumping. They are doing very good with their manners, learning to come and not to bit our hands but rather to lick. If we tell them, "Lick, lick," they will lick our hands.

Enjoy the pictures and video!

Here's a video of miss Katy showing off how smart the Great Bernese puppies really are.

If it doesn't play, here's the link: https://youtu.be/RKTmJQSvjSo

Growing too big!

All waiting to get breakfast...

And the pictures say it all....

Sleeping after a good meal!

Even mom's tired out!

Very proud mom!

We had to adjust their gate because they had gotten big enough to climb out.

Meal time with mom. The table is a little crowded!

Sound asleep!

Watchful eye on strangers coming in the drive.

No worries, mom! I'm a guard dog too!

Little Emilia enjoying her pinecone instead of getting her photo taken! 'Cause that's too boring!

Checking out the deer antler... Oblivious to the fact that I need a good puppy photo ... Hello! ... Wesley [whistle, whistle] look here! ....

Hey, Wesley, look here! ... Yu hu!!! ...  Hello! ... Look here! ... I'm trying to take your photo!

Okay... I'll sit still....

Week 6 Update - March 4, 2018

The puppies are growing so much, and they are going even cuter every day. This week they are really starting to interact with each other and play a lot more. This week they all got a much needed bath! Then we moved them outside to their outside kennel in our out building. They love the room!
They just ran and ran and tumbled, jumped, wrestled, and played their little hearts out.

Enjoy the pictures. I'll see if I can get a short video done too.

They were out growing their kennel inside.

Their new kennel is much larger and they really like it.

Dog pile.

Hello!

Am I that heavy?!!!

They are out growing their weighing box.

Pine cones are great chews... never mind the fact that they are supposed to be the decorations for their weekly photo.

Photo sequence:

Luther sitting so proud like.

Then notices the fir branches...

...Ouch! You poked me!

Snif, snif, snif... these things smell interesting.

Chew, chew, chew... those things taste interesting.

Getting distracted instead of sitting nice for the photo.

Eating lunch outside!

What in the world are those puff balls?!

Still nursing, but now converted to a standing room only buffet.
